Wales have named their thirty man squad for the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand. Following injuries to Matthew Rees and the omission of veteran Martyn Williams, Warren Gatland has named flanker Sam Warburton as captain. At 22 years old, Warburton is Wales youngest ever captain at a World Cup. Number ten Stephen Jones has been named to play in his fourth Rugby World Cup and will build on his record breaking 100 test caps.
Midfielder Gavin Henson much publicised journey to the World Cup has finally come to an end, missing out due to a wrist injury.
Wales are in pool D along with South Africa, Fiji, Namibia and Samoa, one of the toughest pools following the good form of Fiji and Samoa this year. Wales opens their 2011 Rugby World Cup campaign against the Springboks on 11 September.
