The New Zealand Sevens have won the Adelaide Sevens for the first time and increased their lead on the 2011 IRB World Sevens Series. England, who were eliminated against South Africa in the Semi Final now trail by 13 points with two tournaments to run. The two teams are well ahead of the chasing pack, with Samoa on 100 points, South Africa on 92 and Fiji on 90.

New Zealand Wins Hong Kong Sevens

New Zealand have won the 2011 Hong Kong Sevens tournament, defeating England in the final 29 to 17. It was a rematch of their Wellington and South Africa Sevens finals, also won by New Zealand. England have made the final of every tournament this year except Las Vegas, and were winners of the Dubai tournament.
On their way to the final New Zealand defeated Fiji and England beat Samoa, both games with a 19 to 14 score line. Russia, Portugal, Australia and South Africa were defeated at the quarter final stage.

South Africa defeats Fiji in 2011 USA Sevens Tournament in Las Vegas.
South Africa have defeated Fiji 24-14 in the USA Sevens in Las Vegas final to win their first IRB World Series tournament since April 2009.
South Africa and Fiji knocked out pre-tournament favourites and joint series leaders England and New Zealand in the semi finals. However, England and New Zealand retain their lead on the 2011 IRB Sevens World Series on 80 points each. Fiji and Samoa are next on 64, with South Africa coming fifth on 56.

NZ Wins Wellington Sevens 2011

New Zealand has emphatically won the Wellington leg of the IRB World Sevens Series, beating England 29-14 in the final. England led right up till the end of the first half, but New Zealand scored at the hooter to take the lead 12 – 7 into half time. While still behind in the first half, New Zealand lost captain DJ Forbes to injury for the rest if the game. After the break it was all New Zealand as they scored three unanswered tries before England scored a consolation on the final whistle through Simon Hunt.
