Graham Henry has named a Richie McCaw-led 2011 Rugby World Cup squad heavy in experience but with a splash of youth. The squad of 30 has a combined 1,133 caps, making it the most experienced All Black squad ever assembled. However, it will be the first World Cup for 18 of the squad.

Twelve players have World Cup experience, with five of those players playing their third consecutive World Cup. Those players are Richie McCaw, Daniel Carter, Keven Mealamu, Mils Muliaina and Ali Williams. Corey Flynn, Ma’a Nonu and Brad Thorn missed out on the 2007 World…

The All Blacks team to play the Wallabies at Hong Kong Stadium, Hong Kong has been named. It is the same starting 15 that defeated the Wallabies 49-28 on July 31 in Melbourne. The Wallabies will be looking to stop a run of 10 consecutive defeats to the All Blacks. In their last…

It’s taken him seven years to make 50 test caps. That’s a long time in the modern game. To put it in perspective, Brad Thorn debuted a week after Nonu and has now played 44 tests, but he didn’t play for the All Blacks at all for four years, from the end of 2003 till 2008. Ma’a Nonu, on the…
