Rugby results from the second round of the Six Nations tournament

In the second round of the 2011 Six Nations England demolished Italy at Twickenham Stadium, Scotland went down Wales at Murrayfield and France narrowly won over a heartbroken Ireland at Aviva Stadium.

Wales Squad for 6 Nations. Martyn Williams Dropped.

Wales coach Warren Gatland has named his squad to contest the 2011 Six Nations Tournament, controversially omitting Wales’ stalwart flanker Martyn Williams just two tests short of 100. The 35 year old Williams has been on three British and Irish Lion tours and first debuted for Wales in 1996. He retired from international rugby following the 2007 Rugby World Cup but when Gatland took over coaching Wales in 2008, Williams was asked to come out of retirement and went on to help Wales achieve the Grand Slam that year. Ma’a Nonu gets 50 Test Caps for the All Blacks, finally.

Last night in Christchurch Ma’a Nonu became the 35th player to play 50 tests for the All Blacks. It’s an amazing achievement for a player with such a chequered history with the black jersey.

It’s taken him seven years to make 50 test caps. That’s a long time in the modern game. To put it in perspective, Brad Thorn debuted a week after Nonu and has now played 44 tests, but he didn’t play for the All Blacks at all for four years, from the end of 2003 till 2008. Ma’a Nonu, on the…
