The All Blacks team to play the Wallabies at Hong Kong Stadium, Hong Kong has been named. It is the same starting 15 that defeated the Wallabies 49-28 on July 31 in Melbourne. Notably, Sonny Bill Williams’ highly anticipated All Black debut will have to wait, as he was unable to break up the established All Black midfield of Ma’a Nonu and Conrad Smith, or match the versatility of Isaia Toeava on the bench.

In last night’s victory Ma’a Nonu became the 35th player to get 50 test caps for the All Blacks and Tony Woodcock became the most experienced test prop in All Black history. Both records were achieved with minimal fanfare. The exploits of the current team is bringing familiar criticism of the All Blacks notorious record of peak in between world cups and their inability to win the big trophy.

Rugby Union - England v New Zealand 2008 Investec Challenge Match

Following the last article, after undergoing an x-ray Mils Muliaina has been ruled out of the rest of the Super 14. He will undergo surgery today. Recovery is expected to take at least 6 weeks. His likely replacements at the back for the Chiefs include Mike Delany and Tim Nanai-Williams. Playing Delany would mean breaking the successful twin pivot experiment he had with Stephen Donald last week, although with an injury to Donald still to be confirmed Delany may be needed at first five anyway. Versatile backs Dwayne Sweeney and Sitiveni Sivivatu could…
