Bulls Break Hoodoo, beat Chiefs in Hamilton

The Bulls have broken one of the few hoodoos left in Super Rugby by finally beating the Chiefs in New Zealand. Not only that, but they have done it in style, scoring an invaluable 4 try bonus point victory. The Chiefs come out of the game empty handed, without even a bonus point having lost 33 to 19.

Sione Lauaki Fined but not Suspended

Sione Lauaki has been fined and given a final warning, but not suspended following his guilty plea to an assault charge last month. It has been expected the New Zealand Rugby Union (NZRU) would take a hard line with Lauaki. It’s the third time he has had to be sanctioned by the NZRU following drunken incidents. His previous indiscretions included assaulting a hotel doorman and damaging a motel room.
The NZRU have apparently been pleased with Lauaki’s progress since those incidents and the lack of further punishment reflects that. However, the fine of $4000 is the maximum they are allowed …

The English Rugby Union, the RFU, have agreed to a date change, enabling New Zealand another attempt at a prestigious Grand Slam Tour. The All Blacks and England will now contest the Hillary Shield on December the 4th before playing Scotland on the November the 13th, Ireland on November the 20th and Wales on November the 27th.
