The Springboks have named their team to face All Blacks at Port Elizabeth for their second 2011 Tri-Nations test
The Springboks have made five changes to the starting fifteen that lost to the Wallabies at Durban last week. Key changes include captain and hooker John Smit and first five Butch James dropping to the bench. Their places are taken by Bismarck du Plessis and Morne Steyn respectively. The Wallabies overcame a first half deficit and the most experienced Springbok side in history to upset the South Africans in Durban. In a messy game, the solitary try by Australia’s Pat McCabe proved to be the difference. James O’Connor overcame the kicking jitters he had against the All Blacks to slot three penalties. This was matched by South Africa, who kicked three also, one long range effort from Francois Steyn and two to returning flyhalf Butch James.
