Australian full-back Drew Mitchell could make a remarkable return to action in time for the World Cup next month. The Waratah’s man suffered a horrific ankle break just four months ago, but could be in line to return to the Australian set-up in time for their World Cup campaign after a determined and speedy recovery.

Wallabies coach Robbie Deans has named a forty man squad to contest the 2011 Tri Nations against the New Zealand All Blacks and the South African Springboks.

In recognition of the Super Rugby winning season the Wallaby squad contains 15 Reds players. The Wallabies team to play the All Blacks at Hong Kong Stadium, Hong Kong has been named. There are two changes from the Australian team that lost by one point to the All Blacks in the dying seconds of the Sydney test. Ben Alexander and Drew Mitchell return to the side. Crusaders and Waratahs storm into Semi Finals

The Crusaders and Waratahs have convincingly won their virtual quarter finals and the Hurricanes’ and Brumbies’ seasons are over.

The Crusaders scored 40 points to the Brumbies’ 22. Sean Maitland, Kieran Read, Owen Franks, Richie McCaw and Zac Guildford scored tries for the Crusaders. Dan Carter had an off night with the boot but still kicked 4 conversions and 3 penalties. Tyrone Smith, Ben Alexander and Huia Edmonds scored tries for the Brumbies, with Matt Giteau kicking 2 conversions and 1 penalty.
