Russia and USA team announcements for their 2011 Rugby World Cup Pool C test at New Plymouth Stadium in Taranaki on Thursday September 15 at 7:30pm. The game will be Russia’s first ever match in a Rugby World Cup.
Despite playing just four days after USA’s emotional September 11 anniversary test against Ireland, the Eagles have only made limited changes. The USA fought bravely in that test, but eventually lost 22-10.
The game is being dubbed ‘The Cold War’ test by locals, and the novelty is ensuring the game will be well attended despite the relatively lowly world rankings of each team. Both teams will have targeted this match as their best chance of a win at the 2011 Rugby World Cup.
