Will round 8 of the 2012 Super Rugby finally mark a turnaround for the tragic Blues? Will the unbeaten Stormers finally stumble? There are some very interesting matchups this round, starting with a Blues team who are at rock bottom playing a Sharks team who are also feeling the pinch. Although they copped a hiding at the hands of the Hurricanes, the Sharks were better than the score suggested. The Blues on the other hand have not showed any signs of improvement. The Waratahs have a proud record in Perth, but RugbyFix are picking this week to be the Force’s after they showed some good signs against the Chiefs last week.
The Crusaders also showed some good signs in a losing effort against the Bulls, and are more than capable of making the small improvements required to improve their season. It’s a big ask against the Stormers, who lie in wait back in New Zealand having dispatched the Highlanders with ease. The Crusaders on the other hand must journey back from South Africa.
The Brumbies should be too strong for the Rebels and the Bulls should easily take care of the Lions. The Chiefs and Cheetahs could be the most exciting game of the round. The Cheetahs are known for their running rugby, and so were the Chiefs in another life. The Chief’s coaches will be hoping the team don’t get sucked into an open game against the Cheetahs, as the Cheetahs could run away with it if that happens.
