Ireland and USA team announcements for their 2011 Rugby World Cup Pool C test at Eden Park in Auckland on Saturday September 17 at 8:30pm.
Ireland will be disappointed in their opening game against USA on Sunday and will need to put in a much improved performance if they are to beat Pool C heavyweights Australia, who are one of the tournament favourites. There are four changes to the team who played the USA Eagles, Rob Kearney, Eion Reddan, Sean O’Brien and Cian Healy.
Munster hooker Jerry Flannery was originally named on the bench, but has been ruled out of the rest of the Rugby World Cup with a calf injury. Sean Cronin takes his place on the bench and Damien Varley has been called up to the Ireland 30-man squad.
