England Rugby World Cup 2011 Squad

Lewis Moody will be the squad captain for the England Rugby Team’s assault on the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand. Former captain Steve Bothwick has missed the cut. Martin Johnson will be hoping fellow 2003 World Cup hero Jonny Wilkinson still has what it takes at number ten.

Riki Flutey will not be returning home to New Zealand as part of the England squad, but there are a number of other New Zealanders in the squad, Dylan Hartley and Shontayne Hape. Hape has represented New Zealand in rugby league. Flutey’s place has gone to block busting Samoan centre Manu Tuilagi.

England should have a fairly easy run from Pool B into the quarter finals. Their competition from that pool is Argentina, Georgia, Romania and Scotland. England begins their campaign against Argentina on September 10.
