The All Blacks and England rugby teams have been named for the Hillary Shield match at Twickenham on Saturday the 6th of November, 2010. The England team has only one change from the team that beat the Wallabies in Australia earlier in the year, with Andrew Sheridan replacing Tim Payne at loose head prop. Bath Rugby flanker Lewis Moody will captain England. Ben Foden, Chris Ashton, Shontayne Hape, Ben Youngs and Courtney Lawes will be making their first starts on Twickenham. On the bench David Attwood and Hendre Fourie could be set to make their test debuts from the bench.
In one of the most anticipated debuts in All Black history, former rugby league star Sonny Bill Williams has been named at centre. Uniquely, each team has a former Kiwi rugby league international, with Shontayne Hape being named in the centres of the England team. Former Kangaroo rugby league stalwart Brad Thorn takes his usual place in the All Black second row.
Jimmy Cowan, Conrad Smith, Tom Donnelly and Corey Jane have been rested for this game. Their places have been taken by Alby Matthewson, Sonny Bill Williams, Sam Whitelock and Hosea Gear.
The 1.91, 108kg Sonny Bill Williams paired with the 104kg Ma’a Nonu will form one of the biggest All Black midfield partnerships ever. Along with Hosea Gear and Joe Rokocoko the All Black backline will feature four players over 100kgs.
